Cheverly: Rent an Apartment Just Down the Road from D.C.

In addition to having one of the coolest names of any town in the Washington, D.C., metro area, Cheverly, Md., located in Prince George’s County, is literally on the capital city’s doorstep – as in one mile away. According to the U.S. Census Bureau report from 2000, the population of Cheverly was 6,433. If that sounds tiny, don’t worry. Cheverly is close enough to other towns and the big city that you’ll still feel like you’re in the thick of things.

One great thing about renting an apartment near Cheverly is that you have your own stop on the WMATA Metrorail’s Orange Line, so all you non-drivers out there can get by without a car. And if you do have an automobile, U.S. Route 50 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway are at your beck and call. For lovers of the outdoors, there are at least 12 parks in Cheverly to enjoy.

If you happen to get sick (which we, of course, do not wish to happen), you’ll be glad to know that the Prince George’s Hospital Center is located in Cheverly. In fact, with 1,500 employees, it’s one of Prince George’s County’s largest employers. So if you work at the hospital, renting a place here would make a lot of sense.
