District Heights, Maryland, located in Prince George's County, is just 8 miles east of Washington DC, and spans a little less than 1 square mile of land.
The city of District Heights takes part in a revitalization program to restore the façade and infrastructure of their business and residential community. The city was initially farmland but later expanded during the 1920s when the District Heights Company started to build 25 homes in addition to the existing homes, grocery store, sewage system and filling station.
