Why Dumfries Could be Your Next Hometown
Dumfries is a sleepy suburb south of Woodbridge and north of Triangle and Quantico Station. Nearby landmarks include the Quantico Creek, Prince William Forest Park and old mines such as the Greenwood Gold Mine and the Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine.
The town lies along the Virginia Railway Express line and is mostly rural in comparison to cities closer to the District. Still, the area is going through some growth in population. Prince William County is making an effort to attract businesses to the areas around the I-95 and I-66 corridors. Points of interest include the Weems-Botts Museum, which offers historic insight into "Virginia's Oldest Chartered Town", and Tim's Rivershore Restaurant & Crabhouse. Town festivities include the Fall Festival in October and the Holiday Parade in December.
