Description
Herndon lies just east of the Dulles technology corridor and minutes away from the neighborhoods of Sterling and Reston near the Dulles Toll Road and Route 28. Although Herndon brings a lot of new development, it still maintains its Old Dominion feel with its Main Street--which is surrounded by old neighborhoods.
Herndon is very much different from Reston in that it was never a planned community. Neighborhood activities can include biking on the Washington and Old Dominion Bike Trail to the putting green on the Herndon Centennial Golf Course. Popular festivities include the Labor Day Jazz Festival, Mayor's Cup golf tournament, and the Herndon Folk Festival.
