Description
Landover is an unincorporated area in Prince George's County that is part of the Greater Landover census designated place (by the US Census Bureau). Landover is home to the Washington DC Redskins' stadium, FedEx Field. Landover is just a couple miles east of Washington DC and off I-495 and Route 50.
Visitors can commute via the major thoroughfares or take public transportation via the Landover Metro station or the nearby New Carrollton MARC station. Also, the nearby Landover Mall features about 130 stores, services and restaurants for those who like to shop.
County Description
Formed in 1696, Prince George's County is a suburban county that spans 487 square miles and lies just 37 miles south of Baltimore. The county was named after Prince George of Denmark, and was created from parts of Charles and Calvert Counties.
Prince George's County has many apartment communities available, which are convenient to both higher education and major employment opportunities. Nearby colleges include Bowie State University, Capitol College, Prince George's Community College, Strayer University, and the University of Maryland (UMD).
