Northeast, Washington DC is approximately bordered by North Capitol Street, East Capitol Street and Eastern Avenue. The Northeast section of DC is also is the site of several major colleges such as Catholic University, Trinity College and Gallaudet University. Today, Union Station serves as a popular venue, shopping mall, and train station for several train lines such as Amtrak, MARC and VRE.

Established in 1927, the National Arboretum consists of 446 acres of land with a large collection of plants and gardens aimed at the research, conservation and education of plants and horticulture.
