Why Falls Church Could be Your Next Hometown
Falls Church is small independent city bordering Fairfax and Arlington County. The name of Falls Church comes from a local church built in the early 1700s. Falls Church officially gained the status of township in 1875.
Although the actual city of Falls Church is only about two square miles, a large part of Fairfax County holds a Falls Church mailing address. The city lies just off Route 66 with the University of Virginia (Northern Virginia Campus) nearby.
Public transportation is provided by GEORGE bus services and the East Falls Church or West Falls Church Metro rail stations. The East Falls Church and West Falls Church stations are not actually located within the city of Falls Church—rather they are located respectively in neighboring Fairfax and Arlington County. Local festivities include an annual Memorial Day Parade featuring food, crafts, vendors and entertainment.
