Easy Ways to Seal Your Windows for Winter

Cold got you down?

In an earlier post I mentioned ways to keep warm without breaking the bank, briefly touching on sealing windows. Now, with help from both Kathy Hopkins of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and YouTube, I’ve decided to actually show you how.

Hopkins demonstrates ways to insulate your windows on both the inside and outside of your Columbia Heights rental palace (outside, if you have a garden apartment maybe?) using some pretty simple materials and tools, stuff like Bubble Wrap, painter’s tape, plastic, cardboard, duct tape, and even a hammer and nails.

Don’t worry, all of these treatments are pretty easy to do and at least look like they work.

So if you need to buy some supplies, mosey on over to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get to work saving money already. Or, even better, go local.
