Ritzy Bethesda Offers Some of the Best Shopping in the D.C. Area

Window shopping

A matter of choice: More than 200 popular retailers await the shopper in downtown Bethesda.

One thing that makes Bethesda, MD., stand out is its upscale shopping. Unlike, say Northern Virginia, where the big mall is the scene, Bethesda’s best shops are stand-alones or connected to each other along the Wisconsin Avenue Corridor. There are two distinct venues where most of the shops are located: Woodmont Triangle and Bethesda Row.

Big hitters such as Barnes & Noble and Jos. A. Bank Clothiers are nestled among boutiques like Cecile & Jeanne Paris, Urban Chic, Sassanova and Chico’s.

Thus, the renter in Bethesda will never be able to get out of an engagement with the hackneyed excuse, “I have nothing to wear.” Well, if your paycheck’s kinda thin, you might be able to get away with that one. So save up, why don’t you?

After you’ve hit the stores and are looking sharp, be sure to treat yourself in one of the city’s many restaurants. Bethesda is loaded with fine eateries, places like Tommy Joe’s, Flanagan’s Harp and Fiddle, Positano Ristorante Italiano or Las Margarita’s Grill & Bar. In Bethesda, there is a restaurant for every taste.
