Now entering its fifth year, Front Flicks Outdoor Movies, presented by the folks at Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District, makes a night out at the movies in the city free. According to the Front Flicks site, these movies are said to “attract around 500 people weekly.”

This year, the series runs through July 26 on Thursday evenings with the movies starting at 8:45 p.m./sundown.

The theme for the event is treasure hunting. There are 10 movies in all, including “National Treasure” “The Goonies,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “The DaVinci Code.” A few of these don’t exactly bring to mind treasure hunting per se, but it’s a free night out in the city. Take it.

Here is a list of the movies being shown.

New for this year are food trucks, cotton candy, popcorn and Micha’s Sorbet. The Capitol Riverfront area is coming alive.

Flicks Outdoor Movies is located a short walk from the Navy Yard Metro stop on the Green Line. In case of inclement weather, check their Twitter page for cancellations and rescheduling.

See you at the movies!
