D.C.-Area Creatives to Call On

Anyone reading these blog posts has a basic interest in their home — and everything that goes into warming up your home, personalizing it, filling it in and making it unique.

Sometimes this task gets big … and overwhelming. Whether you’re hiring a professional or consulting one (in person or online), creative types come into play in every new home owner’s experience.

My friend Shannon Smith, a design pro/blogger, and I realized this need that everyone has, and we decided to celebrate our local D.C. creatives with an office party over the holidays!

I really just want to share with you the talent that was in the room that night. The guests included interior designers, fashion and lifestyle bloggers, and small-business owners. Many of us are women entrepreneurs as well.

The venue, food, drinks, flowers, professional photography, gift bags and decorations were all contributed by local small-business owners. The whole event was a huge collaboration. We are trying to get the word out to as many local people as possible about our growing creative and entrepreneurial industry, and all of these startup businesses right here in the D.C. area.

D.C. hasn’t ever really been known for its art scene or creativity, so this is an exciting and transitional time for our city! This area boasts many creative, talented and specialized professionals that are on call for your home projects and other needs.

You can take a virtual tour of the party below. And in true entrepreneurial spirit, naturally, we called it the #likeabossparty. Enjoy!
