Whether you are just looking for some entertainment this summer, or trying to expand your palette, check out these upcoming beer and wine festivals in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Cheers!

DC:

DC Beer Week– This annual event consists of eight amazing flagship events including a crab feast at Quarterdeck and tastings at Gordon Biersch just to name a few. As if that’s nor enough to get you excited, you can also expect over 200 events throughout the week at various locations as well. From baseball games, to beer week cruises, educational sessions about the tradition of brewing, and happy hours all over the city you won’t know where to start.

Brew at the Zoo/ Smithsonian’s National Zoo– This is an annual event that highlights the attractions at the zoo while providing some adult fun with a wide collection of artisan draft beers to taste.

  • Takes place in 2015 TBD at the National Zoo.

Drink the District– This event will feature unlimited tasting over over 100 different wines as well as food, music, lawn games, and DC food trucks. Guests will have access to all of this for only $40.

  • Takes place on June 7th at  500 New York Ave, NW 

Washington International Beer Festival– This is a ticketed event, your attendance will grant you access to more than 120 beers from around the world. You will also be able to leave with your own tasting cup and enjoy tons of outdoor games, arts, and activities.

  •  Takes place on August 16th at Dock 5 Union Market, DC. 

Maryland:

Maryland Wine Week–  The Maryland Wineries Association hosts wine events throughout the year. This particular event will feature tastings from over 30 wineries, live music, foods rom local restaurant, crafts as well as wine education lectures.

  • Takes place from September 20th-21st at 500 S Center St, Westminster. 

Wares- Good Beer Festival– Browse the selection of craft and commercial vendors from around the area at this market day. You will have the chance to view a broad selection of goods and services offered by local businesses as well. Advanced day passes can be purchased for just 25$. 

  • Takes place form October 11th-12th at 500 Glen Ave, Salisbury.

Beer, Bourbon, & BBQ Festival– Proceeds will support the Spirit of Hope Children’s Foundation. You can expect unlamented beer and bourbon tastings as you explore all the tents present. And as hinted at by the title of the event, there will be BBQ galore with generous helpings for all guests.

  • Takes place from March 21st- 22nd at the Timonium Fairgrounds.  

Virginia:

4th Annual Richmond Uncorked– Sponsored by Wine for Cures, this event will provide education about and raise funds for cancer fund while entertaining with wine from several regions. Everything from pairings to creative combinations will be provided. There will also be a silent auction and live music all night. 

  • Takes place on June 2nd and July 24th at 6605 W Broad St, Richmond. 

Ashland Wine Festival–  Six Virginia based wineries will be present for this bourbon and craft beer tasting event. Unique vendors and gourmet food, as well as live entertainment will accompany the tastings. Pre-registration is open at any time before the event.

  • Takes place on April 25th, Location is TBD. 

Clifton Wine Festival– The Trattoria Villagio is hosting their 8th annual wine festival. This event brings an abundant variety of vineyards and wineries together for your convenience.

  • Takes place on June 21st at Children’s Park, Clifton.
