Saturday Nats Live: Join the Crowd at Nationals Park This Weekend

We didn’t herald opening day at Nationals Park this year, and it’s just as well, as the Nationals managed to lose to the New York Mets, 3-1. As I write this, they’re 29-24 with a slim, half-game lead in NL East.

Maybe it’s every other year for both the Nationals and neighboring Baltimore Orioles. In 2012 they each made the playoffs, then, though good, they both missed the postseason in 2013, only to roar back to the playoffs again last year. Well, at this point the Orioles are struggling at 23-29.

Both teams have work to do if the Beltway Series is to ever become a reality. Here’s to hoping the Nats hold serve and that the Orioles wake up from their bird flu. Just going to Nationals Park is a treat in and of itself. Check the team site for tickets to an upcoming game.

Nationals Park is located in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood (or according to Google maps, just outside it) in the city’s Southeast. It’s conveniently positioned near the Navy Yard-Ballpark station on Metrorail’s Green Line. Capitol Riverfront is gaining steam and makes for a great place to rent an apartment. Go see a day game, then have a walk around the area and see if anything catches your eye.
