Hillcrest Heights, MD, located in Prince George’s County, sits just southeast of the nation’s capital and, according to the 2000 census, has a population of 16,359.

Renters looking for apartments in Hillcrest Heights will enjoy the convenience of being located just inside the I-495 Capital Beltway, which encircles D.C. and provides easy access to nearly all points in the metro area. What’s more, the community is surrounded by three stations on the WMATA Metrorail’s Green Line, with the closest being the Southern Avenue stop.

Speaking of green, there are several parks and recreation areas around Hillcrest Heights, including Barnaby Stream Valley Park and Hillcrest Park. The area is dominated by the Oxon Run Parkway, a lavish, sprawling space that includes some 100+ acres of forests, wetlands and wildlife. When city life leaves you reeling, remember that the natural world is never too far away.

The town offers a newly renovated community center, public library and a variety of dining options including the popular Tajmahal Indian Restaurant. In the mood to shop? Then you’ll want to check out nearby Iverson Mall and the Marlow Heights Shopping Center.

All told, Hillcrest Heights offers a combo of convenience and livability that is tough to match in the D.C. area.
