Navy Yard, DC is home to one of America's oldest Naval facilities, the Department of the Navy. It almost goes without saying, but the Navy Yard is the perfect location for those who want to live near the water! Located alongside the Anacostia River, there are many activities available to residents during the warmer months, and of course throughout the year! As many of you may or may not know, the Navy Yard is also where Nats Park is located. With that in mind, of course one of many popular local activities is catching a game at Nats Park. In addition to enjoying a good meal and people-watching at Yards Park, you could also take a class at the Washington Trapeze School. Many local residents also love attending events hosted throughout the year at the Capitol Riverfront (such as free outdoor movies and concerts), renting out a kayak and going on a tour of the Anacostia River, and in the colder months, ice skating at Canal Park. It's important that a great location have great restaurants! A few local favorites include: Osteria Morini, Bonchon Navy Yard, Scarlet Oak Restaurant & Bar, Due South, Whaley's, 100 Montaditos, Justin's Cafe, Las Placitas, Ambar Capitol Hill, TaKorean | The Yards, Rose's Luxury, and if you have a sweet tooth--Ice Cream Jubilee!
